Nova-BioRubber Company develops new industrial rubber-bearing plants for the production of natural products for the application of rubber and food industry. Company is currently running a greenhouse for growing activities.
This is a temporary part-time position with potential long term employment. The successful candidate will help with the greenhouse growing, field trials and seed production operations.
As a member of our team your responsibilities will include:
Accountable for propagation, growing plants in greenhouse, and determining best growing conditions for seed production and to meet our expansion plans.
Accountable for field trials, fertilizing, weed control and disease control
Project writing and development on the expansion growing activities
Assist in the coordination, supervision, hiring and training of personnel
Develop, monitor and review business processes associated with seed and feedstock production to ensure continuous improvement
Achieve key performance measures by applying the principles of performance management
Preparing budgets and managing costs within your specific responsibilities
The successful candidate will have:
Minimum degree BSc in Agriculture, Biology or related field
Good understanding of seedling physiology, agronomy, entomology and pathology
International travel may be required once a year.
Excellent leadership, communication & project management skills
Project writing and development skills
Capable of working independently, setting and meeting targets
Proven problem-solving skills
Experience with tissue culture is an asset
Excellent computer skills & related software knowledge including greenhouse/nursery applications
Preference may be given to those with extensive experience with vegetable growing and greenhouse management.
