JOB SUMMARY:
As an advanced Practice Nurse, the NP in the Eating Disorders program integrates both nursing knowledge and elements of diagnoses and treatment for complex psychiatric problems. This includes prescribing pharmacology, which ultimately promotes excellence in clinical practice for this specialized population. As a member of the Eating Disorders team, the NP will provide psychiatric consultation to patients/families experiencing complex psychiatric concerns, across the program. The NP integrates research into practice to ensure best practice standards are maintained and incorporated into clinical initiatives. All roles are essential in providing a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and others by ensuring that health and safety policies are followed.
