North Shore Industrial Wheel specializes in the manufacturing, distribution & recertification of wheels and rims for mining, earthmover, construction, forestry, agricultural and industrial machinery. We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team.

The Purchasing Manager will provide support to ensure the procurement of products, services and inventory control in a timely and cost effective manner and in compliance with company policies and procedures.

Duties and responsibilities:

- Keep purchasing database up to date with current information
- Work closely with sales people to develop forecasting tools and accurate reorder points
- Make purchasing transparent for all Inter-company businesses
- Maintain records of quality products/services/ brands and ongoing price of goods
- Ensure communication with product suppliers – defective products and resolving warranty issues
- Maintain a minimal quantity of product all the while assuring no shortages
- Import/export of material via rail, truck and sea
- Coordinate activities with warehouse, sales and quality control
- Coordinate traffic flow of supplies
- Prepare and maintain progress and other reports

Job Requirements:

- Clear understanding of MRP
- Translating sales forecasts to purchasing MOQ’s
- Understanding of global procurement
- Keep abreast of steel pricing
- Good management skills
- Excellent communication and negotiating skills
- Financial management skills
- Customer service orientated
- Knowledge of Supply Chain Management
- Experience in reading and understanding drafting and mechanical drawings

Education: Post secondary Education (degree in Business Management and/or working towards your C.P.P would be an asset)

Experience: 2 – 5 years of similar experience

Business Equipment and Computer Applications: Windows, General Office Equipment, Electronic Mail, Excel. Company software: Business Visions and Seradex

Salary: Depends on experience - Negotiable
