We are looking for a contract-based professional (with opportunities for further employment) with experience in conducting energy audits, energy management, and building management. Furthermore, a background in mechanical or electrical engineering, energy conservation through process/technological improvements, Greenhouse Gas emissions, and energy efficiency is considered a definitive asset. This position offers a unique combination of technical skills, management skills, and client interaction with C-level executives.

Role: Energy Management Consultant

Desired Qualifications:
Preferably Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. All engineering disciplines are accepted – preferred mechanical or electrical. Prior work experience is required.
It is preferred that some evidence of business education has been completed – i.e. business-related courses in accounting, finance, marketing, communications, or MBA (in progress or completed).
Exceptional analytical and numerical skills are required.
Strong communication skills and sales orientation. Ability to communicate effectively with upper management and C-level executives. Further responsibilities would include conducting training sessions, establishing partnerships, and building sales.
Good general knowledge of energy solutions, energy efficiency building measures, Greenhouse Gas emissions, energy conservation.
Experience conducting energy audits according to ASHRAE standards including:

  • Preliminary Energy Use Analysis
  • Level I – Walk Through Analysis
  • Level II – Energy Survey & Analysis
  • Level III – Detailed Analysis of Capital-Intensive Modifications

Must be personable and have good command of spoken and written English. Good presentation and report-writing skills are required.

Responsibilities include:
Articulating the benefits of energy management, energy conservation to reduce energy and other operational expenditures.
Making key sales presentations to C-level executives and upper management personnel with qualified business prospects regarding energy saving and facility retrofit objectives across multiple building assets.
Develop strong relationships with C-level executives and upper management personnel.
Present and articulate ROI models, energy benchmarking and payback periods associated with proposed energy efficient systems. Have an understanding of financial considerations.
Develop deep industry expertise by keeping abreast with latest technologies and improvements.
Develop energy audit tools.
Generate energy audit reports.
Review energy audit report with clients as needed.
Develop RFP, Proposals and Tender documents to secure new business and long-term contracts.
Effectively complete utility data analysis, building surveys and needs assessment, financial justification and related proposals and presentations.
Collaborate with engineering support teams to provide comprehensive Energy Efficiency Solutions.

Remuneration is based on level of previous experience and limitedly negotiable. Please again note, this is a contract-based position. Further contract extension is possible.
