The Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre is seeking to engage a full-time gallery manager who will be responsible to the Board of Directors for the day-to-day operation of the facility. This is a newly created position and is responsible for targeting a wide range of audiences. The position plays a key role in increasing awareness, understanding, and appreciation for visual art and culture within the Niagara region and beyond. This includes funding applications, managing earned income streams, membership, education and artistic programs.
Also responsible for the office management and operations in collaboration with the Board Chair and the Committee Chairs, as well as actively contributing to the future development of the organization both artistically and strategically.
The successful candidate must demonstrate knowledge and experience of art sector grants and funding including research and completing successful fundraising bids. He/she should have experience of commissioning artists and organizing exhibitions, from planning, production and delivery. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential to this role. The incumbent will provide demonstrated team leadership and relationship skills, working with members of the Board, managing volunteers and developing partnerships.
- Post-secondary education in Fine Arts or equivalent as determined by the Board.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in arts administration or business management.
