Chief Power Engineer/ Operator (Former Employee) – Stauffer, AB – 23 January 2017
This was a very physical job. The average worker probably walked 20 km a shift due to the layout of the plant. The company tried to get the maximum out of each worker which sometimes put allot of pressure on the employees. The hardest part of the job was getting along with some of the employees. It took time, but in the end it worked out fine. The most enjoyable part of the job was two fold: Working with customers and the satisfaction of accomplishing my tasks well.

My several years spent with Newalta Corporation were positive overall. During the last two years spent with the company I had been around for 3 changes of middle-upper management which made career progression and work place organization quite difficult.
Large corporation with excellent pay and benefits.
Accounts Payable Team Lead (Former Employee) – Calgary, AB – 7 October 2015
Great company to work for. Enjoyed the Payables Team and made life long friends. Fun department as holidays were taken to the next level by decorating the area (Christmas, Halloween my top favorite). The group brought a new meaning to "Team" players. No matter what the issue, everyone pitched in to complete tasks.

Engineer (Current Employee) – Calgary, AB – 6 August 2014
The salary at newalta is above average and the benifits are great. However, professional growth opportunities are limited if none existance. People are typically picked for job advance as there is no system to apply for job openings. These people typically are part of the "buddy buddy" system or yes men that will do what is told rather than what is right to get a job completed in a safe manner.
Customer Service Administrator (Current Employee) – Red Deer, Alberta – 12 February 2014
A typical day of work would include:
-Entering truck tickets from surrounding Newalta (oilfield) facilitites into SAP software. -Once tickets are entered into SAP, they are entered into ADP software.
-Sendingout daily load reports to customers. As well as constant contact with numerous customers
-Scanning, faxing, photocopying and filing
-I maintained great relationships with co-workers
-I gained alot of experience working for Newalta. Mostly a side of the oil and gas industy that I wasnt very educated about prior. I learned how to use SAP & ADP software and became very knowledgable in those areas.
