The Commercial Litigation Clerk will be assisting a team of lawyers and will be responsible for all filings, corporate minute books, and transactional work as requested. Specifically, the duties of the Litigation Law Clerk will include, assisting in the corporate governance of the company, assisting in the formation and corporate governance of subsidiary companies. In addition, the Law Clerk will also be organizing corporate minute books, preparing initial drafts of contracts from precedent and preparing formal board resolutions. The Commercial Litigation Clerk will also assist the Associate in the drafting of legal documents, perform corporate and lien searches, maintain calendars and ensure various deadlines are met.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario Certificate and or University/College (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and some tax background
- 4+ years of litigation law clerk experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to interact professionally and diplomatically with clients.
Compensation $50,000 to 60,000/annually
2-3 weeks vacation
Fulltime Permanent Role Monday to Fridays
