We are currently looking to hire a Heavy Duty Mechanic. This is a full-time position.
You will report to the shop in SE Calgary. You will be required to make service calls to job sites during road construction season, and service trucks will be provided for you.
You will troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, determine extent of repair required, adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, test repaired equipment for proper performance, clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work and service attachments and working tools. The ability to instruct apprentices and keep maintenance reports/documentation is a plus.
You will be servicing all kinds of heavy duty equipment, such as graders, gradalls, lowboys, bobcats, dump trucks, and pavers. Heavy duty equipment knowledge and familiarity is a must. You will also be working on our substantial fleet of pick-up trucks.
Diesel Engine Repair Specialization: Fuel injection systems, Exhaust systems, Cooling systems, Air conditioning systems, Lubrication systems, Engine control systems, Major internal engine repairs or overhaul, Installation and alignment of engines and machinery.
Mechanical Repair Specialization: Mechanical transmissions, Drive trains and final drives, Hydraulic transmissions, Power take-offs, Vehicle brake systems, Wheel-mounted vehicle suspension and steering, Highway vehicle tires and wheels, Off-road vehicle tires and wheels.
Powered Equipment Repair Specialization: Hydraulic-operated working attachments, Compressors, Pumps, Electric generators.
- Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 5 years HET experience
- 4 year HET Journeyman required
- Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic Trade Certification
- Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Red Seal Endorsement preferred
- Class 1 or A Driver's License
- Class 3 or D Driver's License
- Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
- Commercial Vehicle Inspection Certificate
Annual salary for this position ranges from $89,310 to $97,292. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Disability, Life Insurance, Group Insurance, and Pension Plan.
