About the Position
The junior mobile game developer is an entry-level position where the candidate will build and develop new content for mobile games based on our television properties. The candidate will assist the lead programmers in technical implementation of game designs and extend the life of published games with additional content and gameplay. They are a proactive individual eager to learn daily and are excited to be part of a vibrant, energetic team that works at a fast pace with rapidly emerging technologies. They love jamming out new games and seeing where the Interactive team’s inspiration takes them. A diverse set of skills is a major asset as we invite all team members to contribute in all capacities, from game design to artwork and sound. We have a strong team with many creative ideas and we want you to realize them with us!
Program and assemble content for mobile games
Help with design of casual mobile games
Prototype games during creative exploration sessions
Improve and maintain existing mobile games
Post-secondary certification from a recognized program, or equivalent experience in fields related to game programming
Proficient in one or more high-level programming languages common for mobile games, such as C#, Java, or Objective-C
Well-versed in game design
Must be able to write clean, maintainable code
Effective communicator with peers and managers
Able to take direction well and execute on a project with limited supervision
Quick learner with excellent organizational skills and strong communication skills
Successful applicants must be based in the Vancouver, BC area
Experience with iOS and/or Android platforms
Experience with Unity3D
Experience with physics-related games and libraries such as Box2D
Experience with scrum methodology
