Full-time Maintenance Technician
Purpose of Position: Under the supervision of the Director of Property, you will be responsible for assisting with maintenance of Nepean Housing Corporations stock, ensuring protection of the Corporate assets and the provision of a healthy and safe environment for residents by way of the implementation of a timely and high quality emergency, routine and preventative maintenance and repairs program.
High school diploma minimum, community college and/or trade school preferred. Excellent customer service skills and excellent interpersonal communication skills. General knowledge of non-profit housing and rental housing.
Valid driver’s licence.
Criminal reference check.
Minimum three years of related experience in a residential rental environment.
Knowledge of plumbing, heating, electrical, carpentry and construction fields.
Janitorial, construction and maintenance experience preferred.
Carry out repairs and improvements, respond to routine work orders, contact trades to carry out repairs or maintenance, maintain records, meet with contractors, inspect contractor work, assist the Director of Property with inspections and the implementing of NHC maintenance and security plans, recommend repairs to be included in the annual budget, share “On Call” duties and perform service where required, deliver notices to residents, maintain NHC vehicle.
