Pros: i love providing quality customer service and satifying my customers
Cons: hours/on-call availability allows for little or no personal or family time.
Service on-site of ATM financial products of varying brand names, Imaging equipment, Network equipment, & Servers. Approximately 40% of workday is driving throughout a 5 county area. Shift hours vary, and on-call availability is a must, and happens often (2-3 weeks rotation).

Interesting environment - metrics focused
Services Sales Consultant (Former Employee), Atlanta, GA – March 28, 2013
Pros: good trips...
Cons: not a lot of information sharing
The work environment is not a 'team' environment and there is not
a lot of sharing ideas. Definitely not a 'sales' environment.
The hardest part of the job is working all the time...no work/life balance.

A nearly perfect company to work for
Customer Engineer (Current Employee), Montgomery, AL – March 5, 2013
The company has been very good to me. The only down side is the lack of balance between work and life schedules. It has become increasingly challenging. to justify the time spent at work opposed to time spent with my family

This is a company with a rich American heritage. The company is very focused on quarterly, monthly and weekly order growth. NCR is doing a lot of great things with technology that drives consumer self-service transactions.

Stress less company with great working environment.
Order Administrator, Logistic (Current Employee), Serbia, Belgrade – February 25, 2013
My working hours from Monday to Friday from 9:00 - 17:00
Everyday i start by checking orders that are pending from days before, if there is anything i can do to improve waiting time and then slowly starting to check new orders.
I have learned how logistics job is done and how complex and interesting is, since every day you learn something new with each – more... given work order.
My team is very young and we started working at the same day and that was very important, because we started to learn from the beginning and we were together in it, therefore we became very proactive working as a team.
The hardest part of the job was the very learning of the new things but in the same time it is very interesting.
Most enjoyable part of the job is the very environment and no stress which makes everyday life much more easier then it is in some other companies. I am very satisfied with the Management in the Ncr company for they are always here for us, making sure that we have everything we need to do our job professionally . – less

loved working there
Business Ops Analyst II (Former Employee), Duluth, GA – February 7, 2013
Pros: flex hours
There were no typical days at work, every day was different, learned everyday something new, management was virtual so I worked independently. My co-workers were delightful. The hardest part was to put it down to go home. The most enjoyable part was when I got everything accomplished on time.

Massive cuts to every department (Parts,Support,Management, etc) leaves techs scrambling without support or effective management
Customer Engineer (Former Employee), Raleigh, NC – January 24, 2013
Pros: resume recognition
Cons: anorexic support, unrealistic demands, no recognition that employees are human
NCR did a major hiring blitz in late 2011 to cover new major accounts (but much less profitable). In mid 2012 they turned around, and started firing a huge percentage of employees (mostly tenured and higher paid) from every department. In several cases, they immediately hired new "green" replacements (with little or no experience) at a third less than – more... the seasoned people they let go.

While I understood the need to make the numbers for stockholders; this massive cutting left customer engineers and their managers without the necessary supporting staff in parts, tech support, management or logistics.

What used to take 15 to 30 minutes to reach a client, became a drive of 30 to 90 minutes. Hold times for tech support went from a couple minutes to 20 minutes or an hour. New clients were added without due diligence being done, and supporting documents (parts lists, break-away drawings, and manuals) failed to be produced or distributed to us until weeks (or even months) after a clients systems needed to be serviced.

My branch of 8 people dwindled to 5, with only one CE (out of 5) having a tenure of more than 1 year. My branch had seen 4 manager changes in less than a year. And every three months came new directives, to add one more completed call per day (going from 5 completed calls to 8 calls a day). No longer could we do preventive maintenance, since we now only got credit for break/fix calls.

Similar horror stories were found in other divisions. What once was a extremely effective (although maybe a bit overweight) infrastructure, became anorexic, exhausted and barely survivable.

I've worked 20 years in IT, networking, POS systems, repairing, support, servers and workstations maintenance. I've also run 2 IT service companies over the span of 15 years. I'm not a disgruntled employee, but a business-minded, objective, and customer-focused team player.

I'm now looking to find an employer that bonds employees, teams, departments, and divisions together; instead of making them fight against each other; just to improve their numbers on a departmental P&L.. In my opinion, everyone should work together (as a whole) to make a company stronger. That will eventually raise profitability (as well as customer and employee satisfaction) even in a down economy. – less

Contract
Project Manager (Former Employee), Atlanta, GA – January 17, 2013
Pros: travel everywhere.
Cons: no benefits
A new phase in companies today is the contract laborer. Missions are brief and furious, however when a candle burns on both ends, it burns twice as bright, but it lasts half as long. Contract work is rewarding but not forever.

Good money NO personal time
CE ATM tech (Current Employee), SOUTH – January 8, 2013
Pros: good pay, van and phone
Cons: micro managed and no family time at all
Pay is good but the work/home % is not there. Very long work days. 2 days off a week but you are on stand by and almost always get called in. Home long enough to eat and sleep. No week ends and shifts change every week. Good for a single man with no life

Great forward thinking leadership, but still an old bureaucratic heirarchy at all levels.
Manager (Current Employee), Duluth, GA – January 6, 2013
Good company, but difficult to advance career. Very large bureaucratic organization with weekly changes in positions and responsibilities. Everyone is too busy trying to cover-their-butt to really put out good effort and new ideas.
