Property Assistant
Small private real estate management firm in Mississauga is looking for a motivated and energetic Junior Property Administrator to expand its team of service professionals.

The candidate will work in close conjunction with the Vice President of Property Management and will be responsible for supporting and assisting in the overall management of the real estate portfolio. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to grow and learn through hands on experience within the property industry. Responsibilities will include:

  • respond and resolve day-to-day inquiries from residential and commercial tenants, contractors and superintendents
  • prepare and mail tenant communication, including letters, memos and notices
  • monitor and follow up with rental arrears and ensure timely payment of the monthly rent
  • assist with obtaining supplier and contractor quotes
  • maintain and keep current insurance certificates for tenants and contractors
  • set up utilities
  • assist in the collection of property accounts receivables and code invoices
  • maintain and update various property management spreadsheets and lists
  • assist in maintaining property filing system
  • attend and actively participate in staff meetings
  • ad hoc projects and other duties as required with a team player attitude
  • The successful candidate will possess:
  • a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, preferably within the real estate sector
  • a post-secondary degree or diploma, preferably in a real estate program
  • full competency in Microsoft Word and Excel and be comfortable with digital photo and image editing software
  • above average verbal and written communication skills
  • basic knowledge of accounting an asset
  • an outgoing personality with strong interpersonal skills and who is able to liaise with multiple individuals outside the organization, including contractors and commercial tenants
  • an eagerness to share ideas and always look for opportunities to improve property management services
  • a proactive and resourceful attitude
  • self-motivation and be capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • multitasking abilities and be able to complete tasks efficiently in a time sensitive manner
  • a car for property visits and tours
  • a polished and professional demeanor
