The Nanaimo Community Foundation was founded in 1982. It has several million dollars in endowed funds, and grants more than $70,000 annually. The foundation’s priority is to fund community capital projects. Many of these projects are community-wide endeavors that several community organizations participate in. The Nanaimo Community Foundation is proud to play a key role in these projects. The Fundraising Consultant will be mandated to prepare and implement an energetic long-term development campaign, raise the organization’s profile in the community, and establish the Nanaimo Community Foundation as a community leader.

The primary objective for this contract position is the creation and implementation of an effective and efficient planned giving program. Interested candidates should focus on their knowledge and experience setting up and managing planned giving designed to increase the endowed capacity of the Foundation.

The Fundraising Consultant will bring enthusiasm, superior organizational and interpersonal skills, experience and proven track record in fund development. Post–secondary education, experience in management of a not-for-profit organization, CFRE membership and professional designation are considered assets.
