Too Good to Be Real
Account Manager (Former Employee), Fort McMurray, ABApril 6, 2014
Pros: great company and great people to with with excepts in districts located at fort mcmurray
Cons: salary and benefits for canadians are better than foreigns, harmful work environtment, no respect for customers, no opportunities for advancement.
If you want to be treated like a second class citizen, please apply to this job. Nalco is a great company but unfortunately there are too many managers but no management in Fort McMurray and by the time the customer needs Nalco the most, Area and District Managers are too busy playing Curling, watching movies on their Ipads or which is even worse, sleeping inside the offices provided to them by the customer or telling employees under their supervision they are not "engaged" or you misunderstood everything due your communication issues. For these managers, being not engaged means not following their orders although this means doing a huge one time sale and putting on jeopardy the account in the future losing the customer's loyalty. After this, Managers will blame employees under supervision washing their hands for any responsibility of their mistakes. Managers in Fort McMurray don't have any qualifications or any background to justify their job positions, they still have their positions for unknown reasons. They don't want to recognize that people need to be recognize for their hard work and sacrifice to achieve of this great company.
Right now, Nalco Management at the headquarters in US must take actions, otherwise, Nalco will start losing business and customers sooner rather than later. Do you know how many Nalco's employees have landed with competitors in the last two years. Managers in Fort McMurray, AB think that people who left Nalco are idiots, that they won't be successful at other company than Nalco and they are wrong

Casual and Friendly Work Environment
Assistant to Project Manager, Co-op Student (Former Employee), Burlington, ONMay 11, 2012
Pros: friendly staff, clean facilities, decent office space.
Cons: not a permanent position.
Although I was only there a short time, I found my co-op experience at Nalco to be a positive one. I had the opportunity to work with important material and felt that I really helped the Project Manager to get ahead in his work.
