The CNC Programmer will use Master Cam to program 3 and/or 5 Axis Machining Centers. The goal is to ensure the optimization of both attended and unattended manufacturing processes Machining will be from plate, billet, castings and/other forgings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform programming, and/or modify existing programming of 3/5-Axis CNC Machining Centers using Master Cam or compatible.
Working from process sheets, blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
Create setup sheets based on tooling selection criteria. Set up and run 3 to 5 axis equipment.
Monitor and verify the accuracy of each job’s initial set-up and final outcome. Evaluate results with the inspection and machining team for proper corrections.
Employ critical thinking, logic and reasoning to troubleshoot and solve problems. Communicate to resolve machining or quality issues.
Maintain library of programs.
Proficient in using Master Cam, w/ Ability to Program 3 Axis and 5-Axis CNC Machining Centers
Demonstrated understanding of 3/5 axis CNC machining centers
Experience with cutting tool geometry. Math skills
Blueprint-reading skills including the application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
Experience with standardized tooling
Experience with tool design and fixturing that supports attended and unattended machining.
Experience with precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments.
Education and/or Experience Required:
Possess a high school Diploma or GED.
At least three (3) years, 5-axis machining related experience programming
A minimum of three (3) years aerospace industry experience in the manufacture of machined aluminum parts and assemblies is highly desired.
