Due to the pending retirement of the incumbent, an opportunity exists to join the management team of North Valley Credit Union. The successful candidate will report directly to the General Manager/CEO. Responsibilities include: overseeing the entire lending function of NVCU and supervising five employees using up to date performance management processes. This position requires travel between the Esterhazy and Stockholm branches on a weekly basis.

- Minimum grade 12 diploma supplemented by direct lending training and experience
- Recognition will be given for enrollment in or completion of the CUIC program
- Strong business development and relationship management skills
- Proven ability in portfolio management including achieving sales targets
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must
- The ability to work within a diverse employee group utilizing team building skills.
Compensation will depend upon qualifications and experience. The compensation package will be competitive and will include an 8% matched defined contribution pension plan as administered by the Co-operative Superannuation Society. This position will also qualify for participation in an un-capped variable pay-profit sharing program. A full range of employee benefits including medical, dental and life insurance are provided. THE CREDIT UNION:
North Valley Credit Union with administration offices in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan has assets of nearly $ 65 million and a loan portfolio of $ 40 million. NVCU is well capitalized having retained earnings of 8.74% and a Risk Weighted Capital ratio of 17.04%. Delinquency has been well controlled over a multi-year period and currently sits at 0.05% over 90 days. NVCU carries an off-balance sheet book of wealth management assets of $ 17.4 million bringing total assets under administration to over $ 82 million. The staff complement is 12.5 FTE.
Esterhazy is located north of the Qu’Appelle valley, 73 km from the Manitoba border and 90 km southeast of Yorkton. It has a growing population approaching 3,000 and is a full service community, which has a hospital, staffed by four doctors, a dentist, RCMP detachment and K-12 schools plus a daycare centre. Other amenities include a 9-hole grass green golf course, curling and skating rinks, outdoor aquatic centre, children’s park, museum, library, Potash Interpretive Centre and bowling alley. It also has a strong retail sector consisting of two pharmacies, two grocery stores, three convenience stores, a hardware store, bargain shop and eight restaurants. The community also boasts two new motels currently under construction to add to the two existing motels. The potash mines in the immediate area are expanding and this increased economic activity bodes well for the future of this geographic region.
