The Position:

We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Benefits/Payroll Administrator. The Benefits/Payroll Administrator will be a key part of the payroll and human resource team by maintaining accurate benefit records and by being a liaison between the provider and the employees. This role will also assist payroll in the preparation and processing of the payroll associated with the multiple subsidiary companies of our organization.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualities:

o High School Diploma
o 1-2 years’ experience in a payroll/human resources/benefits department
o Detail-oriented, proactive, self-starter with strong organizational skills
o Well organized with excellent time management skills and the flexibility to work the hours required to get the job done during peak times
o Strong technical skills and knowledge

Position Description and Responsibilities:

Benefits Administration

o Add, change or remove employees from company benefit plans, including retirement savings plans;
o Provide benefit documentation to new enrollments;
o Ensuring payroll and benefits administration is up to date, accurate and complete;
o Liaise with benefits providers;
o Assist staff with claims/questions;
o Ensure confidential information is treated as such;
o Perform monthly reconciliations of benefits collected and submitted;
o Problem solving with internal team members as well as brokers and vendors on group benefits and retirement plan inquiries/problems;
o Applying trouble-shooting methods when challenging situations arise;
o Special projects and reporting assignments as required.

Payroll Administration
o Enter payroll on a weekly/bi-weekly basis
o Verify payroll prior to processing to ensure there are no errors;
o Ensure proper deductions are being made, and that both federal and provincial guidelines are being met;
o Communicate any changes to payroll to appropriate parties;
o Answer employer/employee inquiries as required;
o Maintain confidentiality.
