The Municipal Finance Officers' Association (MFOA) in partnership with the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH) is now accepting intern applications for the 2013-2014 Municipal Finance Internship Program (MFIP)!
The MFIP provides recent graduates with the exciting opportunity to work directly with senior staff in Ontario municipalities, providing opportunities in financial administration, leadership and municipal governance.
A competitive salary (minimum $40,000), extensive training and networking opportunities (a professional development budget of $5,000), and the creation of a 'deliverable,' a project with a legacy which will benefit the municipal finance sector. An opportunity to become one of the next generation of municipal leaders, contributing fresh perspectives and innovative ideas.
You! If you are a recent graduate or will have completed a university/college program relevant to municipal administration, governance and finance, and/or have accounting experience by September 2013 and have a strong desire to learn and work in a municipal setting, apply now!
Interns are hosted by Ontario municipalities and a MMAH Municipal Service Office for 4-6 weeks of the year. A one year contract in the Township of Tay is currently available and will be beginning ASAP (ability to relocate a must).
To request the specific application required or for questions, please contact Krista Klesch at 416.362.9001 x 231.
NOTE: The deadline for intern applications is 5 pm EST Friday, September 13, 2013.
