I have gained extensive office experience
Office Administrator (Former Employee), St. John's, NLMay 9, 2013
Pros: gained experience in all aspects of business
Cons: the job security
My typical day at work at Mr. Rooter consisted of booking clients for appointments and ensuring that the plumbers would arrive on time. I worked with about 8-10 plumbers at a given time so I had to ensure that every appointment was assigned to each plumber. I have learned and gained a lot of office experience from working there. I have learned HR, payroll, – more... filling out worker's claims and sending them off to worker's, I have completed T4's for 2 consecutive years there, and have learned the everyday office duties such as filing, faxing, email, etc.
the most enjoyable part of that job was the people I have worked with. They were all so easy going and were very manageable. – less

The left hand dont know what the right hand is doing
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee), Sparks, NVDecember 23, 2013
Pros: fun customers and techs
Cons: its hard to get ahold of anyone to answer and questions
I had fun dealing with the customers and some of the techs were a lot of fun to work with. However management sucked and the person who was suppost to be trainning me would come in hours late and only stay for a few hours to get her work done then would leave again. So I had to train myself and hope that I was doing it correctly. I was givin less then – more... a weeks notice that I was going to be laid off due to lack of work. – less

Very nice place to work but small and franchised owned
Office Manager (Former Employee), Holyoke, MANovember 4, 2013
Pros: work at your own pace
Cons: no breaks, no lunch, and not a very good health insurance policy
Customer service skills needed to perform all aspects of this job. Need to be able to multi-task while answering the phones and inputting data into the computer data base. Payroll deadline was the hardest part of this job and be able to financially balance all reports. Most enjoyable was interacting with customers and the technicians that you needed – more... to dispatch to get the jobs completed in a proper and timely manner. Everybody has to work as a team player to get the job done. – less

Terrible place to work in pittsburgh
Residential Plumbing Tech Apprentice (Former Employee), Pittsburgh, PAJune 13, 2013
Pros: nothing
Cons: everything
2 manager quit while working there in less than 4 months. Owner of the Franchise is a greed hungry SOB. You cannot advance whatsoever. They want you to work when it's convenient only for them. I hated working here!!!

position included company vehicle and gas per diem
Plumber (Former Employee), Joliet, ILApril 19, 2013
The position included anything from a leaky faucet to a backed up main, full use of equipment and knowledge of all policies and procedures, team was average and the hardest part of the position was in some cases not being able to solve the issue in one trip or finding out there was actually more extensive work needed to be done such as digging into – more... a yard, fixing broken drain tiles. – less

Customer Service Representative (Current Employee), Brooklyn, MIFebruary 12, 2013
A typical day at work usually consists of answering phones, scheduling appointments, entering in invoices and bills, and lots of customer interaction. All of my co-workers are easy going and willing to help in any way possible. The most enjoyable part of the job is getting to interact with people and figure out ways to solve their problems.

Great Company!
Service Professional/ Drain Tech (Former Employee), Gladstone, OROctober 17, 2012
Pros: great pay, company truck, educational
Cons: rotating shifts, on-call, costly benefits
Overall great place to work! My only reason for leaving was that the cost of benefits was more than I could afford. The company is a franchise location run and owned by a husband wife team who really wanted to deliver quality and service to their customers and it showed. The average work day began with a drive into the office to stock up on supplies – more... and recieve the first assignment of the day from dispatch. A day could be just one lengthy job or several short jobs. The number of jobs you do for the day depends first, on the number of calls for service coming in and second, the time you spend working on any particular job and third, the time you spend commuting from one job to another. And being a commision based job its as profitable as you make it. As the Service Tech I know from expirience what needs to be done to fix a problem right and give the customer the best results and yes it is usually the more expensive of the options available. So you have to be a bit of a salesman and educate the customer of the benefits of the work you recomend so that they can be confident in the decision they make and in the work being performed. – less
