A good multinational engineering consultancy
Document Controller (Former Employee), Abu Dhabi – May 12, 2013
1. New knowledge on administration work acquired
2. The co-workers are good and professionals
3. The hardest part of the job is staying until late at night to finish next day submissions.
4. The most enjoyable part of the job is when you learn something from work contribution and achievements done.
5. A typical day at work is full of work challenges, – more... coordination, communication and learning. – less

Good working environment
Architectural TECHNICIAN (Former Employee), Altrincham – February 11, 2013
Pros: flexi time
project orientated - drawings, discussions etc. In house cpd events, good CDM training.
Management systems not quite joined up but workable.
Good group of co-workers established a good rapore.
The hardest part of the job was getting the different disciplines to liaise on certain sections of the design (what's new).
The most enjoyable part was seeing – more... the design take shape on site. – less

Friendly staff and challenging work
Graduate Engineer (Current Employee), Hinckley – October 25, 2012
Pros: sports and social club, friendly staff, discounts
Cons: location of office
Working closely with National Grid and civils contractors out of the Hinckley office in Leicestershire.
I currently carry out the role of Design Coordinator which has allowed me to be involved in both the engineering side of projects as well as project management.
The most challenging part of the job is meeting strict deadlines on large civils projects. – more... However, meeting these is very rewarding. – less

One of the worst
Senior Engineer (Former Employee), South England – October 9, 2012
Pros: well a job is a job these days
Cons: inefficient heirarchy; lack of support or advancement
HIgh Staff turnover; no support from management and a box-ticking-ineffective HR department. Some of the worst managers I have had the misfortune to be under and an HR department that were more concerned with being seen to be doing the right thing without actually doing anything. Too many levels of managers; and too many overhead staff such as, admin, – more... customer support, IT, project managers, accounts, HR and not enough work to sustain its bloated self in the long term. Not enough good seasoned "old hands" from which to learn from due to employing mostly grads at a cheaper rate and not regarding long term experience with the respect it deserves. Only way to advance to management is to be a poor engineer that needs moved to a position where they can do less harm – less

Admin staff view
Admin (Former Employee), Croydon MMH – September 2, 2012
Pros: nice interrior, close proximity to shops.
Cons: nowhere to eat, unpaid overtime, high staff turnover
Working in Croydon HQ -there is no canteen or any sort of eating area. You are expected to eat by your desk or go out. No system in place for overtime payments for admin staff, and you will be expected to do overtime. High staff turnover, the drive is more towards recruitment rather than retention. Very few co-workers with more than two years work history – more... within company – less

Site Visit
Consultant (Current Employee), Chennai – April 19, 2012
Pros: practical knowledge how each process works
Cons: long journey
Visiting clients project site for understanding of the project configuration and how to carry about with the project is one the most interesting aspects. I have learned a lot while my visit to several integrated steel plants and brewery plants.
