Great Place to work
SR. ENGINEERING MANAGER, INNOVATION PRODUCTS (Former Employee), San Diego, CA – December 25, 2012
Pros: organized and fun place to work.
Cons: get stuck in one area of work.
Motorola is a great place to work if you like working in an organized environment. Motorola has a rich history of innovation and if you are in the innovation group, you can work on the latest technologies. Groups are specialized, so it is difficult to work on anything outside your area.

Productive, quick paced work environment, that produced results.
Software / Hardware Integration Specialist (Former Employee), Chicago, IL – November 7, 2012
Pros: working on the cutting edge of technology
Cons: no real room for advancement.
Was taught and researched methods to make the department run more efficiently. My co-workers were a knowledgeable and we complemented each others skills well. Management was tough but fair; as long as you did your job and all customers/users were satisfied they were happy. The hardest and also the most enjoyable part of the job was being on the bleeding – more... edge of technology. – less

Sr. Business Operations Manager (Former Employee), Plantation, FL – September 14, 2012
A lot of talented people with a lot of potential that was poorly managed over a long period of time by senior leadership. Under new management so there is a lot of changes going on. Hopefully good things to come in the future.

I can only write my review as a controctor
Materials Specialist (Former Employee), Libertyville, IL – September 11, 2012
Pros: the environment was very energetic.
Cons: the recent change of ownership has created many concerns.
The Motorola Mobility facility at which I worked was and engineering and proto-typing facility. Each day there were two meetings with the New Product Operations to discuss the availability of materials for active products with open build requests. The material availability would impact the production schedule. Twice weekly meet with each development – more... engineering team for each project for which I was assigned and advise the material status of upcoming build sequences.
My presentation skills, system skills and analytical skills were enhanced, The most difficult part of the job was impressing upon the development teams that the cannot build until all of the required materials are in the factory. The most enjoyable part was to see your project become a successful product in the market place.. – less

Desktop Support Technician (Former Employee), Libertyville, IL – September 2, 2012
Pros: good people to work with.
Cons: motorola mobility shows no loyalty to its workers.
I worked as a contractor for Motorola Mobility for 6 years. In 2011 they began hiring from outside Motorola. I took part in some training of these new hires and then I was let go several months later.

Great Company to work in.

The two thing it lacks is strategic vision and financial focus in everything they do. Hopefully the new SLT will put an end to this.
