BC Bearing/Motion Canada, a leading distributor of industrial MRO (maintenance, repair and operation replacement) parts, and the largest Bearing and Power Transmission Company in NA is currently recruiting for a Customer Service Representative (Inside Sales) for a major customer of ours in Haileybury, Ontario. The key responsibilities include fulfilling customer orders accurately and in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction and processing orders for customers. This exciting and challenging position reports into the Branch Manager in our North Bay, Ontario branch.

Key Accountabilities:

Sales and Customer Service

  • Responds to customer inquiries, provides quotes and takes customer orders via telephone, fax, email, electronic methods or walk-in (counter sales)
  • Orders items to ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained for Consignment customers
  • Responsible for sourcing products in branch inventory, Distribution Center inventory or supplier inventory
  • Influences the Gross Profit through negotiating the sale price and purchase price within certain parameters
  • Proactively generates sales by actively promoting products to existing customers
  • Expedites back orders
  • May pull inventory and prepare order for shipment to customer
  • May handle customer returns


  • May place orders without approval for orders up to $25,000 per line and $50,000 per Purchase Order
  • May adjust non-contract customer pricing to meet the demands of the customer based on competition, while maximizing the profit the company
  • Minimizes Branch freight cost by determining the most cost effective method to fulfill customer orders


  • Routinely interacts with customers to obtain and fulfill orders correctly
  • Interacts with suppliers as necessary to obtain pricing for items
  • Partners with Account Representatives to ensure customer satisfaction

Technical Knowledge

  • May assist customer by troubleshooting via telephone or email and identifying correct part


  • Attends training sessions regularly to continue professional growth and development

Required Experience

  • Reliability, organization and attention to detail required; exceptional communication skills
  • Industry experience in mechanical power transmission and hydraulics would be an asset; product knowledge from previous experience is preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of order desk customer service experience required
  • Ability to multi-task and time management skills required
  • Moderate computer skills, including information processing, communicating internally and externally via email, using business systems and searching capabilities to find products on the internet
  • Good driving record required
