SCRAPERS, DOZERS, EXCAVATORS
Under the guidance and direction of the site foreman or direct supervisor, the heavy equipment operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment in an efficient, safe and appropriate manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life while supporting construction activities and oilfield maintenance services.
Heavy equipment may include:
Rock Truck, Water Truck, Packer, Rubber Tire Backhoe, Dozer, Excavator, Scraper, Grader and other pieces of equipment.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Operate other heavy equipment to lay, spread or compact gravel or other surface materials during highway and road construction.
Attends and participate in various meetings such as monthly safety meetings, pre-job and tailgate meetings
Must be open to a 14/7 or 21/7 camp / hotel rotation applicable to job sites.
Must pass Fit to Work testing as well as a Drug & Alcohol test.
Minimum of 3 years experience supporting construction or civil earthworks activities and/or oilfield maintenance services.
Current Safety Certifications including: H2S Alive, Standard First Aid Level C, CSTS/PST, Ground Disturbance Level 2, WHMIS
Basic understanding of survey grades and construction methods.
Good eye-hand coordination and good manual dexterity
Valid driver?s license as well as clean drivers abstract
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
