I. JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Admissions is responsible for the overall management of the activities and
results of the Admission Advisors team within Yorkville University.

The position provides leadership in training, guiding, coaching and mentoring the goal oriented
Admissions Advisors team.

The Admissions Department is the first point of contact for learners seeking admission to
Yorkville University and sets the tone for students’ experience at the university. This position
ensures that an exceptional standard of service is provided to students considering applying to
Yorkville University or who have applied for one of the university’s programs.

II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Provide on- going coaching, mentoring and motivation of Admission Advisors to ensure
conversion rates are maintained according to set targets.
 On-going evaluation of the performance of Admissions Advisors, including recruitment,
performance management and termination.
 Ensure all Admissions Advisors are effectively oriented to the organization and trained to
appropriate levels of competence.
 Mentor and coach Admissions Advisors to ensure they meet and exceed all daily,
monthly, quarterly and annual targets.
 Compile and report on activity and performance of Admissions Advisors.
 Participate in all relevant marketing and recruiting events.
 Acting as liaison between Admissions staff and other university departments and staff
members
 Provide high level reporting on admissions activities to the VP, Marketing and Enrollment
 Conduct regular individual and advisor team meetings to ensure effective internal
communication.
 Assist with prospective students as needed.
 Maintains a deep understanding and knowledge of all programs, policies and
procedures.

III. POSITION PROFILE

A. Education and Experience

 Bachelors degree required, masters degree preferred
 Minimum five years sales experience
 Minimum of three years sales leadership experience, including leading a team of
sales professionals
 Post secondary education sales/recruitment experience would be an asset

 Collaborative, able to work effectively with other departments in the university.

IV. HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES - EMPLOYEE

 Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), its regulations and all
organizational health and safety policies and procedures
 Identify and report any known workplace hazard to your manager
 Identify and report any known violation of the OHSA or regulations to your manager
 Not engage in any behaviour or activity that will endanger yourself or others
 Attend all health and safety training as directed by your manager and apply this
knowledge to your job

V. HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES – SUPERVISOR / MANAGER

 Ensure that employees work in a manner and with protective devices, measures and
procedures as required by the OHSA and the regulations.
 Ensure that employees use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing
required to be used or worn.
 Take every precaution reasonable given the circumstances to protect employees.
 Be familiar with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
 Know, understand and consistently enforce the organization’s health & safety policies
and procedures.
 Require that all employees report accurately and promptly, hazardous acts or conditions
that may or have resulted in incidents or accidents.
 Ensure that immediate treatment is obtained for all injuries.
 Ensure that all incidents are reported promptly and accurately
 Investigate thoroughly all incidents and take effective corrective action.
 Carry out regular inspections of the department for hazards and dangers.
 Assist and co-operate with the Joint Health and Safety Committee in the carrying out of
their designated functions (i.e. inspections).
 Promote safety awareness to all employees.
