Finance (Former Employee) – Calgary – 2 April 2013
Terrible pay, benefits are ok
Very negative culture. They have values, but they do not practice what they preach.
There is no job security. If you look at your Manager the wrong way he/she will get rid of you. They promise advancement, but never follow through.
Management has very poor leadership skills. There is a lot of Nepotism and favortism, it is openly displayed among the employees.
Workload is hectic and when you ask for a day off, an employee has to literally beg
The good employees there are unhappy and want to leave. The bad employees get special treatment.... i.e. allowed to come in an hour late everyday and go for 7 to 8 smoke breaks per day and leave 45 mins before shift is over.
Manager, Anti-Money Laundering Compliance (Former Employee) – Toronto, ON – 15 November 2017
MNP has relied on internally and externally growth to expand its footprint across Canada. The organization rewards its top performers especially those that grow the business. However, the culture varies greatly depending on the area and partner responsible for the specific business.
Manager (Former Employee) – Calgary, AB – 29 October 2017
The culture in the Calgary office is disappointing for a large accounting firm. The old boys culture is alive and well, with the men more concerned about when you plan on gong on maternity leave than your mental capabilities. Many females are passed by for promotions, with many of the admin staff all the way up to management receiving unsolicited and inappropriate attention from partners.
