Under the direction of the immediate manager, participates in the customer service and merchandising activities of the retail showroom. Answers customer enquiries and provides information regarding the showroom’s protective footwear product and accessories. Maintains a neat and clean work environment.
Enthusiastically greets customers. Provides information on product, makes recommendations based on customer requirements and adheres to the seven sales standards of the Company.
Enters sales on cash register, on account and retail. Receives acceptable payments and makes change if necessary.
Issues exchanges/refunds as required. Ensures returned footwear is cleaned prior to returning to stock.
Deals with customer special orders in a timely manner, stock transfers, enquiries and complaints.
Updates computerized databases concerning customers, warranties, special requests and other information related to a customer’s purchase.
Conducts the “Open & Close” daily procedure: prepares cash floats, daily cash and credit card reconciliations. Investigates discrepancies and reports major problems to the immediate manager.
Restocks showroom merchandise and ensures showroom is well presented and maintained as per the Company’s policies and procedures.
Ensures all products are properly labeled and priced.
Ensures the warehouse is maintained by regularly sorting stock. Replace damaged footwear boxes and dust footwear boxes as required.
Oversees office and showroom housekeeping which includes restrooms and kitchen facilities.
Transmits sales data nightly.
Assists with any inventory counting of stock and in the maintenance of storage areas.
Assists in receiving merchandise and putting it away properly.
Strives to achieve weekly personal sales goals as determined by Store Manager.
Completes weekly/quarterly performance summary sheets.
Other assignments as directed by immediate manager or other manager/s when required.
High School education
Basic computer navigation skills
Customer service skills
Good oral and written communication skills
Cash handling experience
Flexibility to work shifts within retail hours of operation (evenings and weekends)
Physical requirements include standing in the stores for up to eight hours, occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds, bending and climbing on a ladder up to eight feet.
