We are seeking a versatile Crew Chief to join our high performance team. The Crew Chief will be working scheduled rotations throughout Alberta (mainly northern) on various as-built, boundary and legal projects. The Crew Chief is responsible for the operation of the total station and GPS systems and the reporting of the data. This position will also be responsible for the supervision of the Field Assistant on his/her crew. This position allows for office based training and advancement when the field schedule allows. The Geomatics Technician (Crew Chief) will report to the Field Supervisor.


  • Geomatics degree, diploma or equivalent experience
  • 2 or more years survey experience (Alberta oilfield experience preferred)
  • RTK operation and troubleshooting experience (Leica preferred)
  • Total station operation experience
  • GPS data processing
  • ATV/Snowmobile experience
  • CAD operating experience an asset
  • Safety certificates an asset (First Aid, H2S, WHMIS, ATV Rider, Bear Awareness, etc...)
