About the Opportunity

Currently, Mission Geospatial has an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated Survey CAD Technician to join the team in Calgary, AB!

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for drafting various legal survey plans for both municipal purposes and for the oilfield industry. In this key role, you will be required to interpret survey plans and documents, as well as draft plans in unsurveyed territory.

To qualify, 3 years of Alberta oilfield drafting experience would be an asset. It is also mandatory that you have a thorough knowledge of current AutoCAD Map 3D. Specifically working with FDO, annotative text, dynamic blocks, and creating/analyzing topologies. CAD programming experience (AutoLisp, VB, etc.), is an asset to this position.

In addition, you will need working knowledge of online search tools such as LSAS, IHS, and SPIN II. You will be successful in the role if you are well versed in Alberta public lands, Land Surface Disposition requirements; Directive 56 of the Energy Resources Conservation Board; the Alberta Land Surveyors Association Manual of Standard Practice; and the Supplement to the Manual of Instructions for the Survey of Canada Lands (blue book).
