Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice (Former Employee) –  Greater Sudbury, ON8 March 2013
A typical day would be starting off were your cross shift ended or were they are having trouble with. I learned how to listen better, how to teach a little better and more about hydraulics and electrical. Showed you how it was done then challenged you to complete the next one just as good or better. The hardest part of the job was to switch form days to afternoons every week. Most of us guys would have preferred to have two weeks of each; but we can not have everything. My most enjoyable part of the job is that no one was shy to ask a question and the bosses were not shy to tell anyone were they should be if someone put you down for asking any question. First place I had ever seen apprentices getting taught right away as soon as they asked the questions. It was enjoyable
Pros
every second weekend was a long weekend
Cons
it was 2010 recession.

Data Entry Clerk (Former Employee) –  Greater Sudbury, ON15 January 2013
Company has people who are not bosses being bosses and bosses not being bosses. Very difficult for working. No training. Friends of people who work there will get jobs, even if it means letting another employee go
Pros
decent wage
Cons
no structure, no loyality to employees

Production Controller/Health & Safety Coordinator (Former Employee) –  North Bay, ON7 November 2012
Not the worst employer I've ever had, but not the best either. Management is very rude and depending on where you are working, advancement is difficult and the office atmosphere was very intimidating as there is a large gap between those on the top and the bottom of the totem pole.

Office environment is very casual dress and there are no time clocks to worry about. Computer systems are very retro compared to a lot of other firms.
Pros
cash bonus at christmas, flexible working conditions
Cons
poor management, run very lean with little or no investment.
