Software Educator and Technical Writer

Overview:
Milano Software is seeking a dedicated and motivated employee looking for a career in Client Service and Application Support for point of sale software. Milano Software is a respected software company with over 4000 clients in North America and experiencing double digit growth. Milano Software’s clientele consist of Salon’s, Spa’s, Medi Spa’s, Retailers, and other point of sale environments. The Software Educator and Technical Writer would be the first point of contact for new clients using the software, introducing the client to best practices and proper use of the software.

Job Description:
- Provide training, education, and advice to the client on how to best use the software to suit their business needs, in both an on-site and over the phone setting
- Creation and management of software documentation
- Creation of self help guides and technical resources regarding the software
- Troubleshooting questions regarding the set up and use of the software
- Front line support of the software via telephone and email on (in an emergency basis)

Required Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language
- Strong customer service skills
- Advance problem solving skills
- Outgoing personality to motivate students and keep training interesting
- Capable of doing trainings over the phone and in a face to face / classroom environment
- Ability to work well with a team, in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work on your own and follow instruction from supervisors and senior colleagues
- Ability to multitask and meet specific goals
- Ability to analyze reports and figure out differences from simple calculations
- Must be able to travel abroad (i.e. United States)
- Some experience with basic Windows networking, such as File Sharing and IP Networking

Nice to Haves:
- Experience with web design (HTML and CSS knowledge)
- Experience with graphic design (Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Saavy with social media resources (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn)
- French writing and verbal skills
- Experience with Flash and video capturing tools
- Past call center experience

Environment:
The customer support department in Milano Software performs 5 - 10 trainings a week. As a Software Educator and Technical Writer, you would be responsible for keeping client satisfaction high by delivering excellent trainings on a consistent basis. Outside of the trainings, the development of course curriculum and software documentation would be the other main responsibility. The team is friendly and there are always projects and opportunities to grow your skills.

Salary Range: $32K - $36K depending on skillset and past experience
