Reporting to the Mid-Sun Facility Manager, the recreation program coordinator will research, plan, develop, implement and evaluate quality recreation and leisure programs, along with tenant rentals, for the communities of Sundance, Midnapore and surrounding South Calgary communities.
Type of position: Full Time; 35-40 hours per week
Salary Range: $17-$26/hour, paid as salary
Hours: Daytime; some evenings and weekends
Duties and Responsibilities:
*Develop, plan, and implement new and existing recreation programs and special events for Mid-Sun Community Association
*Work with the DayCamp Coordinator and Facility Manager to oversee the administration and operation of Mid-Sun Summer Day Camps.
*Manage and oversee office staff in cooperation with Facility Manager.
*Promote and market Mid-Sun programs and events.
*Maintain and update Mid-Sun website and Mid-Sun Messages in cooperation with Facility Manager.
*Recruit and hire qualified instructors for new and ongoing recreation programs.
*Evaluate all ongoing programs and instruction.
*Provide on-site management during Mid-Sun special events in cooperation with the Facility Manager.
*Maintain, purchase and repair equipment used for recreation programs and special events.
*Create, nurture, and grow relationships within the community, and work with community partners as required.
*Prepare monthly reports detailing financial and participation statistics regarding programming and tenants and present to Facility Manager.
*Maintain session budgets for all recreation programs, tenant/hourly rentals, and events.
*Communicate program detail with Mid-Sun office staff.
- Perform office hours in Mid-Sun main office handling registration and customer inquiries as required.
*Manage and oversee all tenant rentals, including booking and invoicing.
*Manage and oversee all hourly rentals, including booking and invoicing.
*Maintain on-line registration and MaxSolutions computer program systems.
*Encourage participation in community events.
*Provide efficient customer service to the public.
*Complete other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Two years programming experience (preferable in the not-for-profit sector).
Current certification in standard First Aid / CPR.
Excellent customer service skills including.
Excellent organizational skills.
Experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Explorer).
Effective communication skills: written, verbal and listening.
Experience working with volunteers.
