Scope of Responsibility:
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in working closely with the management team in building out an HR practice to support this growing business and overall employee performance. The HR Business Partner with work with the CEO in creating, developing and implementing human resource programs and services that will support the organization’s business objectives, performance objectives and growth plans. The HR Business Partner is also responsible for ensuring corporate compliance with all governmental legislation affecting human resources.
The HR Business Partner is a generalist role supporting employee performance through recruitment, talent development, employee performance management, compensation and rewards systems, employee communications, culture and organization management.
Development of the HR programs and services required to support the development of a performance based culture and the achievement of business objectives
Creation, implementation and management of HR Policies, Processes and Programs working closely with the management team
HR Legislative Compliance (Canada) and Employment Law (i.e. employee relations and employment documentation) including workers comp; health and safety, etc.
Organizational Management – role & scope of responsibility documentation (i.e. organizational structures and corresponding job descriptions), provide counsel in the use of cross-functional project teams, career management & succession planning for key individual contributor roles within the organization
Support Recruitment & On-boarding, Career Planning, Training & Development; as well as retention of key personnel critical to achieving our business objectives working closely with the management team.
Employee Communications – ensure branding and key messaging alignment working closely with CEO (i.e. employee surveys, recruitment materials, etc.)
Employee Performance Management – performance assessment and management process, training & development, employee career management
Support Employee Compensation Programs – Salary, Benefits, Bonus/Commission Plans, , etc.
Will possess an education in Human Resources, and a Human Resources designation/certification
Will possess a minimum of 3-5 years progressive human resources background with direct experience in growing and evolving a business (i.e. significant growth, merger and acquisition environment, remote workers, global, etc). Having developed an HR function along side the growth of a business would be beneficial in this role.
Will exhibit a strong HR generalist background and business experience
Previous experience in a non HR role would be beneficial and management of a team.
A strong team player, able to work closely with the management team, and other senior team members. This individual must demonstrate a high degree of ability and accessibility to create rapport among the employee-base and management team members.
A bright, technically proficient professional with a high level of energy; a strong work ethic and a proven ability to deal with confidential sensitive information.
