Basically with the level of practical experience and academic achievements ,I am happy with my day to day performance but strongly believe I am under utilized and I am long overdue to have attained a management level position. I am well acquainted to labour related issues and the challenges facing Management and co-workers as such my decisions are from – more... an informed position guided by principles and not emotions. It is my belief that health and Safety issues are critical in business and business is viable in an environment where everybody is clear of his responsibilities , commits and dedicates himself/herself to achieving the best for the Company. – less

Production Planner
Production Planner (Current Employee), GPMarch 13, 2014
Pros: great work enviroment
My position as a Production Planner at Metso Minerals covers the planning, scheduling, releasing
and tracking of workflow from the engineering department and through the manufacturing department. In my
position I receive the drawing packages and requisitions from engineering personnel, adds planning data, enters
the packages into the company MRP system, – more... copies and assemblies, distributes and further prepares drawing
packets for manufacture. My positions are the focal point in creating a production schedule and maintain it. I
create, track and report on the current production status of released components. My position functions as a
liaison between Metso's Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Shipping/Receiving departments. It is a
focal point among all departments to effectively communicate and help meet project requirements. – less

Payables Clerk (Current Employee), Vereeniging, GPOctober 23, 2013
Pros: hours, no shifts or public holidays or weekends. annual shutdown over the festive season
Cons: no room for advancement and renumeration without a bonus or 13th cheque
Processing supplier invoices on the SAP system for payment, always queries to sort out and month-end deadlines to meet.

Management are concentrated on productivity and employee HSE training and achieving targets.

My co-workers make life interesting in the office.

Deadlines are crucial regarding my work, this is often difficult when dealing with logistics – more... and warehouse employees.

Knowing another month-end deadline has been met each month, is rather satisfying. Chasing the next month-end is always my goal. – less

Laborer (Former Employee), Warrenton, MOAugust 19, 2013
My typical day at work was waking up at 4 am and starting work at 5 am. Since I was a temp I never really knew if I was going to have overtime that day or not. That was always a mystery to me. Other than that I loved working there.

Large Corporation with family culture and work environment
Sales Data Coordinator (Current Employee), York, PAJune 4, 2013
Pros: company benefits, casual attire
Cons: working with employees around the world with time differences
Working at a large corporation such as Metso has been a great experience. Employees work hard and are productive in a fair culture the company has in place. Management travels alot around the world but very willing to aid or be present through other medias. I have learned and utilized the many different forms of computer programs Metso uses on a daily – more... basis. Learning the cloud based sales service is something I feel is neccessary to understand the future of customer relationship mangement. – less

You never know what the day holds
Designer/ Engineer (Current Employee), Warrenton, MOJanuary 3, 2013
Pros: you never know what to expect
Cons: you are not rewarded as expected
An overall interesting company, you can show up to work in the morning and have to catch a flight by the afternoon to the other side of the country.
You will always be given an opportunity to learn new things.
I see my manager once every two weeks at min, no breathing down your neck.
The co-workers would be classified as characters.
At times there are – more... extremely long hours from 8-27 hrs at times
The most enjoyable part of the job is completing the task at hand. – less
