The scope of this position is to coordinate construction teams and administer contractors for new construction projects from inception to completion. Key responsibilities are: prepare tender packages and contract awards; contract administration, including execution and coordination of site instructions and change orders; coordinate project start up including consultant drawing, permanent and temporary utilities; conduct site meetings and site visits; shop drawing review and distribution; coordinate inspection and testing services; liaison with building inspectors; coordination of drawings with architects and consultants; construction budgets and project schedules; final inspections, substantial completion, occupancy, turnover; as built drawings, warranty documents and operation manuals; implementation of general administration of documentation and construction related procedures, including budget forms, cost codes, schedules; manage and direct the work of Project Management Assistant.
Qualifications: Post-secondary education in civil engineering or in construction technology is an asset; professional engineering status or construction trade certification may be required; a master's degree in project management would be an asset; several years of experience in the construction industry, including experience as a construction supervisor or field superintendent; PMP certification an asset; extensive experience in the construction industry may substitute for post-secondary education requirements
Typical hours are Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; additional hours may be required.
