Reporting to the Manager of IT, the System Administrator will need excellent technical skills in order to meet performance objectives of availability, responsiveness and effectiveness of the infrastructure. The ideal candidate is proactive, dynamic, creative, honest and passionate, balancing the demands of the day-to-day tasks and the need to focus on longer-term projects.
Daily maintenance of physical and virtual servers.
Basic administration of Active Directory and Email user accounts
Assisting Infrastructure Manager in the maintenance and support of the companies LAN/WAN.
Key participation in ensuring quality IT services to all offices and warehouses via remote and/or onsite support from the end user level up to the server/network level.
Monitoring and researching new technologies and make recommendations.
Participation in providing technical expertise in projects and executing project work plans
Performing other related duties as necessary
Providing after-hours support if necessary.
College/University Education in the field of Computer Science and 4-5 Years work experience in a similar position
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines
Intermediate level knowledge of Active Directory and Files System.
Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft workstation operating systems including Windows 8 and Microsoft Office Suite.
Working technical experience in the implementation of physical and virtual Intel servers including installation, configuration, optimization and support (VMware and Unix/Linux is an asset).
Working knowledge of LAN/WAN topologies including wireless and copper configurations.
Working knowledge of SQL Server or Oracle database management is an asset.
Provide comprehensive technical training to end users that best fits their needs and requirements.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in fast paced environment.
Preference for certifications such as MCSA, MCSE.
