Productive
Platoon Leader (Current Employee), Shreveport, LA – April 1, 2013
Pros: great experience
Cons: mission unpredictability
As a Platoon Leader and Officer in the Louisiana National Guard my job is to get things done through other people. I typically supervise between 20-50 soldiers. I get assigned a task, develop my own game plan as to how we will accomplish that task, and delegate the work. Finally, I spot check to make sure the work gets done on time and to standard. – more... I am also responsible for the morale of my platoon. I set the tone for their platoon. My leadership style, level of competence and attitude directly determine whether morale is good or bad. Its also my job to recognize good soldiers with awards and praise and to punish poor performing soldiers. This is done by enforcing the Army standards equally and by leading by example at all times. – less

productive work environment with laid back attitude
Sales, and Customer Service Agent (Current Employee), Falls Church, Virginia – February 7, 2013
Pros: minimal supervision
Cons: 8 hour shifts with only a 30 minute break, not enough days off
Many managers at the work place make it hard on the employees dealing in customer service because one manager might have a different approach to solving issues than another manager. Clashing views make it hard for us, as the service representatives, to stick behind what we say when a person of higher authority will disagree in front of the customers. – more... After working with the company for 7 years with open availability, I am scheduled a lot and often leaving me with little to no free time because I work more than full time hours for a job I am supposed to be part time at. I really love working with customers, solving their issues, taking care of membership applications, and data entry. – less

Sam's Membership
Marketing (Former Employee), Houston, Tx – November 7, 2012
Pros: free membership
Cons: healthcare
I learned how to process credit applications and to effectively sell memberships. They deny full time but work you 38 hours per week so that they dont have to offer you benefits. The management is HORRIBLE. They are never on the same accord. Its almost like you work for a different a different company depending on the manager of the day. My co workers – more... were for the most part unhappy. They always complained and some were really lazy. They got away with things like calling inand being late so they had no cares for other people's time. The hardest part was the lack of respect and consideration that was offered by management. – less

Pros: donuts every friday
Cons: no breaks for the non-smokers
My days are usually busy with request from different employees whether it's a conference room booking to help with a special project, to balancing my reconciliation sheet for my AP department. My Coworkers are the best...we have really became a close work family.
