We are currently looking for an experienced, Registered Pharmacy Technician or a Pharmacy Assistant to join our team, at our Richmond location.
In a customer focused, retail pharmacy environment, the Pharmacy Technician/Assistant is responsible for providing prompt, courteous and competent service. Medisave Pharmacy offers service to our customers 7 days a week. Applicants must be able to work a flexible schedule, have a basic knowledge of compounding and a willingness to learn and refine skills. Working under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician/Assistant performs a variety of tasks that assist in the provision of a safe, effective and efficient pharmacy service.
Key Responsibilities may include:
Maintain patient & drug information files
Ensuring the accuracy of drug and personal health information in the PharmaNet patient record
Receiving and transcribing verbal prescriptions from practitioners (within the law)
Ensuring that a prescription is complete and authentic
Ensuring the accuracy of the drug preparation
Receive customer prescriptions, gather all necessary information, ensure completeness of information
Confirm accuracy and completeness of pharmaceutical products prepared for release
Preparation of prescription labels, affixing prescription and auxiliary labels to prescription container
Retrieving, counting, pouring, weighing, measuring, mixing & reconstitution of medications
Price prescriptions, prepare receipts, invoices, letters, memos, & general filing
Stock medications and related supplies, rotate & monitor stock
Maintain customer privacy & confidentiality
Blister packs -- fill blister packs, advance and monitor patient blister pack calendar
Duties will include delivery for blister pack arrangements (compensation for gas/mileage will be given)
Manage inventory and mark of orders, return incorrect or damaged items to supplier
Cash -- operate till accurately and efficiently, day end cash out, make float, change orders
Answer phone and general housekeeping.
Knowledge & Skills required:
Familiarity with WinRx, Mckesson Pharmaclik a definite asset
High level of professionalism.
Knowledge of professional discipline, technical specialties, related process Capable of implementing practical procedures of systems which are moderately complex
Leadership and organizational skills
Excellent customer service skills and ability to handle cash accurately
Respect for the confidential and individual rights of our customers.
Ability to effectively communicate one on one and over the telephone with coworkers, supervisors, suppliers, physicians and customers.
Strong motivation to succeed
A good command of Punjabi (or even Mandarin or Cantonese) would be a definite asset.
