Fast paced environment, great management. Worked on the marketing team which was evolving and growing.

Medgate is a great place to work. Salaries are below industry standard but they offer good benefits which make it worthwhile.

A great place to work with great co-workers
Senior Internal IT Support Technician (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ON30 September 2014
I have been with Medgate since 2006, and have worked in many different roles for them. I began in Marketing right after I graduated from the University of Toronto and after that I very quickly moved into sales. After doing that for 3 years, I wanted to expand my technical abilities, since I was working with many people that were quite technical. I wanted to be able to communicate better with everyone. I decided to join the customer support desk and learn the ins and outs of software release cycles, bugs, and learned to interface very well between programmers and salespeople/users. Once I had been doing that for a while, I realized I had a strong interest in network connectivity and computer setup, so I pressed them as they grew to create an internal support department for their employee population instead of having the client support role handle it as well, which they did. I am currently in a senior role in the Internal Support department and I feel I have garnered a substantial amount of knowledge and experience through my various roles at Medgate. The best thing about this job is my co-workers - I have great connections with all of the people that I work with every day - and its one of the main reasons I opted to move into internal technical support - I wanted to support the people that make my work experience the most enjoyable. I also head up the social committee and we plan some very enjoyable events for the employee population, and that is a great addition to my role here. The most difficult part of this job for me has been changing my previous mentality and mindset from  more... the sales/marketing side to the technical side, and becoming more detail oriented, as well as documenting processes. The most enjoyable part of my time at Medgate has been the broad range of experience that I have received from working in so many different roles. I believe it has made me a very well rounded employee, and has paved the way for future leadership roles in quite a few different capacities.  less
