Good benefits, good company - be careful always being sold/merged
Sales (Former Employee), Midwest – April 29, 2013
Pros: great benefits, great insurance coverage
Cons: benefits available to only certain locations/divisions. poor management.
This company has the ability to be a great place to work, however the employees, management and office politics are a major issue. Too much management not held accountable for their actions, micro-managing and employees that untrustworthy especially those put in a position of power.

Also, this company has always been sold/merged and is currently held – more... by a company known for breaking apart and selling off what they purchase.

Watch your back if you work here!! – less

Director of Academic Research (Former Employee), New York, NY – April 11, 2013
Pros: was able to work from my home office and travel when needed.
Cons: teaching colleagues to understand the difference between marketing and scientific research.
The publishing industry is undergoing massive change given technology advances. It has been difficult for the industry to change at the pace necessary to maintain competitive position. McGraw-Hill recently sold off textbook publishing unit of company.

When I began working at McGraw-Hill in 1989, I expected to grow with the company.
Sr. Administrative Coordinator (Former Employee), DeSoto, TX – March 27, 2013
Pros: benefits
Cons: lack of advancement
In 1989, MacMillan Publishing Company and McGraw Hill Publishing became a joint venture and was named MacMillan/McGraw-Hill. It was a family oriented place of employment, close to home and had an excellent holiday and benefit package. Later, the joint venture was purchased solely by McGraw-Hill and became McGraw-Hill Education. The turnover was not – more... very high and promotions were few and far between. My beginning salary was $6.00 an hour and my ending salary was $22.07 after 23.6 years, even though I held a BS and worked for the Senior Director and received exceptional year-end reviews. – less

Be careful with this company right now!
Sales Representative (Former Employee), USA – March 1, 2013
Pros: compensation is competitive.
Cons: expecations are outrageous, and many decisions are made arbitrarily without truly understanding the different markets.
This company was recently purchased. The company that purchased them has a history of breaking up companies within 5-7 years. I wouldn't hold my breath as far as keeping a job there long-term.

Pros: mediclaim for dependents in family, sodexo lunch coupons, month salary comes seven days in advance
I have very high regards for this company because they have very high moral ethics. clear culture & its value oriented company.

This company is very strong in its basics and that is the reason its number one in market among its type.

Management is extremely good and take care of employees interests.

Most enjoyable part of job is to work in team as – more... one family. – less

The hardest part of the job is to respond to those who are not your director supervisors but they like to manage what you do and how you do your work, while giving you an attitude when they are not in the mood.

Family oriented place to work.
Sales Correspondent (Former Employee), DeSoto, TX – December 14, 2012
Pros: great healthcare, distance from residence.
Needed to prioritize your work based on customer needs.
Scheduling consultants for their sales presentation, in-services or professional development training at schools for Texas, South, and Southwest regions.
Management and peers are always willing to help out with any question or different situation you may not have encountered before.
Hardest part – more... of the job would be to determine if a requested consultant can get to the destination in a timely and cost effective manner. McGraw-Hill was just an enjoyable place to work. – less
