Parent Advocate- Rural Caseload-Temporary Position
Since 1975, McMan Youth, Family and Community Services Association has provided a variety of human service programs to families and communities throughout Alberta. Working in five geographic regions with over 1200 employees, we have grown to be a significant and positive presence throughout the province.
McMan Youth, Family and Community Services is a dynamic agency with a vast spectrum of human services offered to Calgary and area. McMan Youth, Family and Community Services is hiring a Parent Advocate for the Parent-Child Assistance Program (P-CAP). The Parent Advocate will provide in-home visits and community support to mothers in rural communities south of Calgary who have used alcohol and/or drugs during their pregnancy.

Minimum Qualifications:
 Previous employment or experience with high-risk populations in addictions is preferred
 Strong counselling, communication skills
 Valid Driver’s License
 Degree or Diploma in social services preferred
A shared history with client’s lifestyles of drug or alcohol addictions is philosophically compatible; however Advocates must have at least five years of a stable personal recovery-oriented life style of their own. A solid personal support system is valued.
The successful candidate must be able to work as a team member and perform within the policies and mandates of the program.
Salary Range: $ 41,715-$46,350 annually depending on qualifications
