The technologist will perform general x-ray exams while gaining the patient’s confidence by obtaining pertinent history, describing the procedure and answering the patient’s questions. This position requires you to operate the radiological equipment including DR and PACS and perform examinations in accordance with the CAMRT standards and RCA’s policies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND TASKS
Fulfills requisitions for radiological services to patients without delay.
Performs x-ray duties in a professional, timely and safe manner.
Ensures that materials, procedure area and patients are prepared for the procedure in all cases.
Ensures equipment start up and performance checks.
Ensures adequate quality assurance is performed.
Troubleshoots, identify problems and work as part of a team to ensure problems will be resolved.
Ensures high quality of standards is met.
Maintains effective and appropriate safety procedures.
Maintains an ongoing knowledge about the day-to-day running of the office.
Performs other non-technical duties as required.
Ensures patient confidentiality at all times.
Proactive in carrying out duties and assessing current and future workload and procedures.
Certification in Medical Radiation Technology from a Canadian accredited College or University.
In possession of a current CAMRT (Canadian Association Medical Radiation Technologists) registration.
In possession of a current SAMRT (Saskatchewan Association Medical Radiation Technologists) registration.
Proof of registration required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Professional, helpful, empathetic, articulate, friendly, mature and outgoing.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
Experience working with the Philips DigitalDiagnost will be considered an asset.
