Not A good Place to work
Lab Technician (Former Employee) –  Mississauga, ON6 March 2017
I recommend not to even come here even as beginner now. Management has been flag bearer of Cronyism and nepotism. Least pay is given and expectations are a lot from workers.

Great place to find your footing in Canada for newcomers
Lab Analyst 2 (Current Employee) –  Mississauga, ON14 February 2017
Maxxam is the market leader in Analytic research. It is great place for someone whose starting out their career. The company sees a large amount of employee turnover due to pressures on deadlines and turn around time. The company allows flexibility for most employees to conduct their work as long as it doesn't affect your quality of work.
Pros
monthly bagel days
Cons
long hours

Organics BTEX/F1 & Extractables F2-F4 GC Analyst (Former Employee) –  Edmonton, AB28 December 2016
unless you get in a senior analyst, you are nothing and worthless.

Bureau Veritas now owns them, the plan is to cut everyone and everything and blame management for not getting enough work done fast enough.

The Management team for organics however was great. Being a newbie entry job and quality check systems were very good. The constant testing is a great idea to make sure you know your stuff.

thank the sladview manager to lay off me, I had another choice, opened my own business, now more relax & happy with my professional knowledge.
Pros
Entry experience, for freshman
Cons
Skill labor with low salary without future

A company you can learn a lot and spend your days working with amazing people. Unfortunately due to utility and government regulations we've gone through lots of ups and downs which i decided to look for other opportunities.

NOT a nice place to work.
Project Manager Assistant (Former Employee) –  Edmonton, AB27 October 2016
Good management was lacking. Supervisor too busy to ask for help when needed. HR department made their own assumptions so was wrongly accused. Was let go without chance to explain. Did not maintain confidentiality at all, so was made to look bad to fellow employees. Job duties were okay, but wage didn't match the job. Other employees agreed. Terrible experience.
Pros
Fellow employees were nice.
Cons
Not enough pay for type of work.

Field Technician II (Former Employee) –  Clairmont, AB30 July 2016
Job was fine at first due to it being my first full-time job that was not retail. Then everything went downhill with the company being bought out overseas, change of leadership then the layoff of over half the employees.
Pros
It was a job with good pay.
Cons
Long hours, staff was disposable, interoffice animosity and favoritism
