Lab.Technician (Former Employee) – Calgary, AB – 9 May 2017
Over all very Good experience. I learned safety, workplace culture, leadership. Management is good & appreciate work of the employee. Multi culture but well mannered & co-operative. Hardest part is to work in winter in freezing area. Every month safety meeting, with little breakfast & coffee. If no accident pizza party monthly.
Courier for an Analytical Testing Laboratory (Former Employee) – Mississauga, ON – 5 May 2017
Organized and friendly environment. Working there has been a positive experience, as I ended up learning and developing a wide range of skills, ranging from positive customer interactions to personal time management.
Lab Supervisor (Former Employee) – Burnaby, BC – 2 May 2017
Worked my way up and experienced different things.
As a technician, be prepared to do repetitive work everyday, that do not need too much thinking. As an analyst, it will be slightly better but soon it will get mundane and repetitive as well, but if you're ok with that, then no problem. As a lab supervisor, be prepared to be slightly overworked, and dealing with bad management and some politics, bureaucracy.
Job is not hard, everything can be learned with time, most enjoyable is probably getting to know many different interesting people of different ethnicity.
The Burnaby branch is unionized, so not much salary negotiations there for non management. For new immigrants, interns, co-ops, or new graduates, it is a good place to start, but it is highly advisable to find somewhere better in the long run.
may be good for new graduates/immigrants for a short while, place to meet new friends.
Low pay, minimum advancement, bad management, bureaucratic.
Intern Lab Technician (QA Microbiology) (Former Employee) – Mississauga, ON – 26 April 2017
Every day is a typical day at work with so many samples to process. Learnt how to process the samples and plated different samples with the appropriate media. Management was great helps the co-workers in the critical positions. workplace was little bit dis-organized. Hardest part of the job was processing lot of samples but yet the job was so fun.
Great place to find your footing in Canada for newcomers
Lab Analyst 2 (Current Employee) – Mississauga, ON – 14 February 2017
Maxxam is the market leader in Analytic research. It is great place for someone whose starting out their career. The company sees a large amount of employee turnover due to pressures on deadlines and turn around time. The company allows flexibility for most employees to conduct their work as long as it doesn't affect your quality of work.
Analyst (Former Employee) – Sladview – 25 November 2016

Environmental Analyst (Former Employee) – Edmonton, AB – 11 November 2016
A company you can learn a lot and spend your days working with amazing people. Unfortunately due to utility and government regulations we've gone through lots of ups and downs which i decided to look for other opportunities.
Project Manager Assistant (Former Employee) – Edmonton, AB – 27 October 2016
Good management was lacking. Supervisor too busy to ask for help when needed. HR department made their own assumptions so was wrongly accused. Was let go without chance to explain. Did not maintain confidentiality at all, so was made to look bad to fellow employees. Job duties were okay, but wage didn't match the job. Other employees agreed. Terrible experience.
