The primary responsibilities of the CNC Programmer are:

  • Write and optimize CNC programs to create complex parts on multi axis lathe and millingmachine centers
  • Develop workholding and select cutting tools
  • Create and compile necessary documents to aid setting up machines
  • Integrate work with Engineering, Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Scheduling Departments to ensure a smooth flow of quality products through the factory
  • Work to deadlines


  • College graduate CNC Programming , certificate of training or minimum 2 years experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency with CAD (solid modeling) and CAM software
  • Experience in using SolidWorks, CATIA, and/or Vericut a plus
  • Proficient with GD&T
  • Demonstrates a professional and positive attitude as well as a passion for continuous improvement
  • Demonstrates strong time management skills with the ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects
  • CMM programming experience a plus
  • Experience writing post processors a plus
  • Experience using Mastercam and writing CNC programs are an asset.
  • Good communication skills
