Within the Mark's 'Clothes That Work' staffing model, the Store Manager is the business leader for the store and responsible for operational excellence, including optimizing staff performance, ensuring customer satisfaction, maximizing revenues and delivering front line contribution.
This role involves independent decision making and judgment. Operational and financial success can be attributed directly to the judgment, decisions and execution of the Store Manager. Although guided by, and reporting to the District Manager, the Store Manager has significant latitude in decision-making and is accountable for their results. This position allows for considerable innovation and entrepreneurial initiative which is reflected in the degree of decision-making and judgment required

  • Completion of High School and some College or University preferred


  • Business acumen and financial planning, including the ability to understand profit and loss statements and budgets
  • Knowledge of staffing and scheduling systems
  • Knowledge of recruiting and selection practices, including behavioral interviewing techniques
  • Management skills, including both supervision (real-time task direction and follow up) and management (planning, organizing, and resource leveraging to accomplish self-initiated objectives)
  • People skills, including leading, motivating, communicating, coaching, feedback, performance management, and succession planning
