Overview
As a valuable member of the Building Operations team, the Building Supervisor will oversee all aspects of our building operation department. They will work closely with internal departments ensuring consistency within the facility while enhancing team experience and maintaining relationships to deliver a premium experience at BMO Field and Ricoh Coliseum for all events. Salary ranges from $60,000 - $65,000.
Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of HVAC, safety, security, housekeeping and building conversions for BMO Field, Ricoh Coliseum, Team rooms at the Master Card Centre including a seasonal air-supported structure at Lamport Stadium
Supervise and direct facility staff members and contract staff
Lead by example and provide ongoing coaching/training/motivation to staff members
Maintain ongoing communication and rapport with third party contractors
Advocate safe work practices and customer service as key priorities amongst employees and trades
Keep and maintain all appropriate logs and documentation
Call in suppliers / liaise with on an as needed basis
Oversee Ice maintenance and have knowledge in operation of relevant equipment
Schedule general upkeep of facility such as, painting, changing light bulbs and ballasts, cleaning
Resolve operational issues when necessary, ensuring proper follow-up with Manager
Ensure all tasks are completed , meeting high standards and within strict time frames
Lead by example in team management and development, utilizing a “one team” approach
Ensure departmental professionalism and winning vision are intact
Act as the liaison between MLSE and Exhibition Place facility coordinators
Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as requested
Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act
A positive, winning approach; incorporating integrity, confidentiality and discretion
Requirements
A minimum of 2 years supervising skilled trades within an arena or stadium environment
Must have knowledge of plant operations, building automation and glycol heating systems
Minimum two years supervisory experience in a stadium, arena or clubhouse environment
Preferably possess a current TSSA Refrigeration “B” Certificate and HVAC training
Experience with mechanical and electrical systems, refrigeration/ heating plant
Experience working within a unionized work environments is essential
Conversion experience or familiarity with multi-purpose facilities is an asset
Positive team spirit and professional attitude
Ability to see the big picture and strategize accordingly
First Aid, CPR, Defibrillation, WHMIS and Pool Certificate a definite asset
Knowledge of WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety regulations
Experience working with budgets and/or budgeting

Proven to perform well under pressure; manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Available to work evenings and weekends as required around the events schedule
