Complexity & size of the company makes it challenging. The company is 130 years old hence historical information maintenenace and change is challenging. Incorporating better tools is also a challenge due to the size of the company.

Good culture and inspiring team of people. A typical day is busy with various responsibilities. In the role I've been in, they provide a good amount of job flexibility and a decent health benefits package.
Pros
Flexible work hours
Cons
Many responsibilities.

Manulife was contract position, worked during RRSP season. Fast paced, data entry, business atmosphere relaxed, the hardest part of the job was trying to get the work load in a timely manner. The enjoyable part of the job enjoyed the people I worked with

Licensed Financial Advisor (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON19 May 2017
I enjoyed working at Manulife during my first four years.
But after my manager moved to another department,
everything changed when a new unknowledgeable
manager was hired. Also, it was very hard to move to
another department for growth, there's always politics.
Pros
strong company
Cons
politics is always everywhere

Learned a lot.
Special Handling Unit Adjustor (Former Employee) –  Kitchener, ON11 May 2017
I learned a great deal about the insurance industry. However, the systems used were very dated and unnecessarily complicated. The communication between different departments was lacking.
