Position Overview:
The IT Manger will be responsible for supporting the existing infrastructure as well as develop new technologies. The candidate should be self-motivated and able to take initiative in a dynamic environment. Candidates are expected to have 5 years of experience with working with Senior Management and Manufacturing Industry. Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, and should be able to work independently or as part of a team.

Job Requirements

  • Support of servers, application systems, troubleshooting, enhancements, and maintenance.
  • Provide support on software issues in response to end-user requests
  • Monitor the network environment (LAN or external client service network) to ensure that problems are identified and resolved
  • Provide troubleshooting and optimization for technical problems within an area
  • Develop and implement technical solutions under general supervision
  • Create user accounts and support users in accessing network resources
  • Support Team Lead in issue/incident investigation, troubleshooting & resolution
  • Manage defined IT processes for projects
  • Track and control the change management process within the project.
  • Participate in ongoing process improvement, and recommend process change
  • Liaise with staff to assist with project deliverable
  • Identify barriers to progress and suggests strategies to overcome barriers
  • Maintain an appropriate knowledge of technology to ensure effective system design and implementation
  • Create user documentation in regard to all of the above requirements
  • Cross functional team support
  • Prioritize regularly scheduled service activities along with urgent, often unscheduled support requests with a high level of responsiveness
  • Provide support including enterprise email systems, phone systems, VPN solutions
  • Work together in a team in developing and supporting custom software application
  • Designing, creating and generating reports
  • Website development
  • Developing queries to analyze data and provide software solutions
  • Maintain existing real time data processing servers
  • Design, code and test new applications ensuring correctness
  • Monitor performance of programs after implementation
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application problems

Education, Qualifications and/or Experience:

  • Four years college or university degree/diploma, with a major in computer science, or, equivalent experience
  • 3 - 5 years experience
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Server and Desktop Operating Systems (2000, 2003, 2008, XP, Win7)
  • Strong understanding of various hardware platforms
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts
  • Experience with Exchange 2003/2010, Active Directory 2008, server virtualization
  • Knowledge of SQL & PSQL, ability to write complex queries and scripts
  • Proficiency w/ Microsoft Office, including Visio
  • Experience with switches, routers, firewalls
  • Experience with ERP System an asset
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to business customers and team members without technical backgrounds
