Global company in the heavy equipment industry is currently looking for a Human Resource Advisor.

The HR Advisor is responsible to provide effective support to all levels of management and employees in addressing the operational and tactical issues of the assigned business unit. As an HR Business Partner you will apply your solid understanding of human resources to develop practical solutions to address the needs of the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on, day-to-day support and coaching to managers and employees on a wide range of human resource issues, including the application and understanding of policies, practices, disciplinary issues, performance management, employee relations, recruitment, and developmental opportunities
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees to ensure compliance with employment standards, human rights and ensure that the most appropriate course of action is taken, recognizing the organization’s and the employee’s needs
  • Support HR programs that are currently in place, including recruitment, performance management and compensation
  • Add value to the business unit by employing processes and practices in effective change management, employee engagement, and communication
  • Facilitate conflict resolution and coaching sessions

Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience working in a HR role
  • HR diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Significant human resource knowledge with a demonstrated capability to coordinate numerous activities within a demanding environment
  • Experience working in a trades or field environment
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with and develop effective relationships with all levels of employees and management
  • Excellent computer skills including familiarity with SAP, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal, process and facilitation skills
  • Solid analytical, critical thinking skills and problem solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A can-do attitude, with strong results orientation
  • Willingness to travel 25% of the time in Western Canada

Wage or Salary Range: $68,000 – 75,000 per annum; commensurate with experience and education
