Manitoba Lotteries Corporation (MLC), as a Crown corporation of the Province of Manitoba, owns and operates Club Regent and McPhillips Street Station Casinos in Winnipeg; owns and operates the province's Video Lottery Terminal (VLT) Network and distributes and sells tickets for lotteries operated by the Western Canada Lottery Corporation (Sport Select, Lotto 6/49, etc.). It works in partnership with a network of Lottery Retail Centres, Manitoba's hotel and restaurant industries, and veterans organizations throughout the province. MLC is committed to providing a quality gaming and entertainment experience for its customers in a socially responsible manner.
Net revenue from MLC operations is directed back to the Province to support programs in health care, education, community and social services and economic development - over $270 million in 2004-2005. The Corporation generates close to 4000 direct and indirect jobs in the Manitoba economy.
Under its community support programs, MLC directly supports over 825 organizations and fundraising events annually. Close to $4.0 million annually is provided to non-profit community organizations through the Casinos of Winnipeg Volunteer Bingo Program and over $1.2 million in support is provided to Manitoba events and charitable organizations through our Community Support Program. MLC's employees have also launched ECHO (Employees Care by Helping Others), an employee-based organization that is raising funds to support worthwhile community causes.
